The Jamestown S'Klallam Tribe is seeking a part-time LPN to serve as a Dispensing Nurse I within our Mobile Medication Unit (MMU). This role entails a structured work schedule that includes travel and patient care in rural communities.

Role Responsibilities

The Dispensing Nurse I will be an integral member of a mobile healthcare team, delivering essential services to underserved populations. Key responsibilities include:

  • Administering medications such as Methadone or Buprenorphine/Naloxone as prescribed by healthcare providers.
  • Maintaining precise records of all medications received and dispensed, ensuring compliance with regulatory standards.
  • Safeguarding medication stock and ensuring accurate documentation as mandated by health authorities.
  • Conducting necessary testing and accurately documenting results.
  • Performing nursing assessments, including vital signs and patient education.
  • Reporting any changes in patient conditions to the healthcare team.
  • Updating patient records and documenting all interactions in a timely manner.
  • Explaining medication usage and potential effects to patients.
  • Collaborating with multidisciplinary teams to enhance patient care.
  • Adhering to established protocols and policies to ensure safety and compliance.

Qualifications

  • Graduation from an accredited nursing program and a current LPN license in Washington State.
  • A minimum of three years of clinical experience.
  • Experience in substance abuse treatment or primary care is preferred.
  • Knowledge of addiction medicine and its impact on individuals and communities.
  • Strong communication skills and the ability to work in diverse environments.
  • Flexibility to accommodate varying work hours as needed.
  • Ability to travel as required for the role.

Preferred Skills

  • CPR/First Aid Certification.
  • Familiarity with electronic medical records systems.
  • Excellent organizational and time management skills.
  • Understanding of confidentiality regulations and ethical practices.
