The Department of Pathology and Laboratory Medicine at the Indiana University School of Medicine, in collaboration with IU Health Physicians, is actively seeking a neuropathologist with exceptional diagnostic capabilities. This position is situated within the IU Health Central Pathology Laboratory.

The neuropathology division is part of a comprehensive, subspecialized anatomic pathology group comprising over 50 pathologists, with plans for further growth. This division caters to a network of 10 hospitals, including Eskenazi Health and Roudebush VA Medical Center, ensuring a diverse and rich case mix. Additionally, pediatric neuropathology services are affiliated with Riley Children's Health, the sole comprehensive pediatric hospital in the state featuring an active neurosurgery program.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide expert diagnostic services in neuropathology.
  • Offer on-call support and participate in departmental conferences.
  • Engage in educational initiatives with medical students, residents, and fellows, including 1-2 neuropathology fellows.
  • Handle a wide array of specimens, including robust adult and pediatric neuropathology, muscle and nerve biopsies, as well as ophthalmic and autopsy pathology.

Qualifications:

  • Fellowship trained in neuropathology, Board Certified with a minimum of 3 years of relevant experience.
  • Eligible for licensure in the state of Indiana.
  • MD, DO, or equivalent educational background.
