Position Summary:

We are looking for a full-time Sustainable Plastics Engineer to join our dynamic team. This role is crucial in the development and enhancement of eco-friendly processes that facilitate enzyme-driven recycling of various plastics, including PET, at a commercial scale.

The successful candidate will engage in projects ranging from laboratory experiments to pilot-scale process development. We seek an individual who is creative, resourceful, and capable of managing multiple tasks effectively.


Key Responsibilities:
  • Enhance bio-enzymatic recycling process designs utilizing innovative enzyme catalysts.
  • Conduct bench to reactor scale testing for various process stages involved in our recycling methodologies.
  • Develop and refine techniques for the efficient recovery and purification of recycled materials.
  • Design experiments and analyze results to inform scalable process advancements.
  • Collaborate closely with the technical team and external consultants.

Qualifications:
  • BSc, MSc, or PhD in Chemistry, Chemical Engineering, or a related discipline.
  • A minimum of 5 years of relevant industry experience.
  • Strong understanding of chemical processes, including filtration, crystallization, and reactor design.
  • Mechanical aptitude for equipment assembly and modification.
  • Proficiency with analytical chemistry tools (e.g., HPLC, MS, DSC, FTIR).
  • Ability to translate bench-scale activities into comprehensive process implications.
  • Excellent communication skills and the ability to adapt to changing priorities.
  • Experience in project planning and managing external contractors.
  • A passion for sustainability and innovation.
