Clinical Pharmacist

Brown University Health is seeking a highly skilled Clinical Pharmacist to join our team. As a Clinical Pharmacist, you will play a critical role in ensuring the safe and effective use of medications for our patients.
Key Responsibilities- Interpret and evaluate medication orders to ensure therapeutic appropriateness and minimize potential risks of drug therapy.
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary care providers to monitor and assess medication use, and intervene as needed to ensure safe and cost-effective medication use.
- Supervise and review the work of pharmacy technicians and ancillary support personnel to ensure accuracy and quality of medication preparation and dispensing.
- Provide drug information and consultation to prescribers, nurses, and other healthcare professionals on appropriate drug therapy, including drug interactions, side effects, and incompatibilities.
- Participate in emergency code blue response and attend daily medical, multi-disciplinary, and specialty rounds as time allows.
- Review and approve formulations for sterile products requiring compounding or manipulation prior to dispensing, and ensure accuracy, sterility, and stability of compounded products.
- Bachelor of Science in Pharmacy or Doctor of Pharmacy degree from an accredited college of pharmacy.
- Current unrestricted licensure as a licensed pharmacist in the State of Rhode Island.
- Successful completion of Post Graduate Year 1 (PGY-1) Residency from an accredited program and/or national Board Certification in Pharmacotherapy preferred.
- Effective interpersonal and communication skills, both written and verbal, to interact appropriately with patients, families, colleagues, and others.
Extended periods of time spent standing and walking. Requires the visual and manual dexterity to operate a computer. Occasional travel between facilities or sites as required.
