Direct Support Professional 2

We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated Direct Support Professional II to join our team at Redwood Family Care Network. As a Direct Support Professional II, you will play a vital role in supporting individuals with developmental disabilities to live fulfilling lives.
Job Summary:The Direct Support Professional II will provide person-centered support to individuals with developmental disabilities, promoting their health, safety, and well-being. This role requires a strong commitment to advocacy, empowerment, and community integration.
Key Responsibilities:- Develop and implement daily routines for clients, ensuring their needs and goals are met.
- Support clients in achieving their Individual Program Plan (IPP) goals, promoting independence and self-advocacy.
- Maintain a clean, safe, and healthy environment for clients, adhering to all relevant regulations and standards.
- Assist clients with personal care, including grooming, bathroom needs, and changing undergarments or clothing as needed.
- Prepare daily meals and assist with clean-up, promoting healthy eating habits and hygiene practices.
- Transport clients in company vans, ensuring their safety and comfort during transportation.
- Report incidents or problems, communicating daily with administrators to ensure seamless support.
- Perform other duties as assigned, demonstrating flexibility and adaptability in a dynamic work environment.
- High School Diploma or equivalent required.
- At least 1 year of professional or personal experience in caregiving, preferably supporting individuals with developmental disabilities or mental illnesses with challenging behaviors.
- Direct Support Professional Certificate (Year 1 & Year 2) and Crisis Prevention Intervention (CPI) certification preferred or willingness to obtain within the first 6 months of hire.
- First Aid/CPR certification preferred or willingness to obtain within 30 days of employment.
- Must be at least 21 years of age and have a valid California Driver's License.
- Candidates must successfully pass all pre-employment requirements, including a background check.
