The Financial Analyst will play a pivotal role in a diverse range of functions, including Financial Planning & Analysis (FP&A), Sales & Operations Planning (S&OP), and Business Partnering. This position is integral to the Intercontinental Commercial and Markets/Regions, focusing on the development and support of initiatives aimed at consistently achieving business goals.
The Intercontinental Area encompasses regions from Canada and Latin America to the Middle East, Africa, and Asia Pacific. This role offers exceptional development opportunities and extensive interaction with dynamic markets globally.
Key Responsibilities:
Financial Planning & Analysis:
Manage the consolidation of inputs from various stakeholders for the Intercontinental Area submissions across all cycles, including Actuals, Flash, Plan, Monthly Latest Best Estimates (LBE), and Long Range Planning (LRP). Ensure that deliverables align with directives from International Headquarters.
Provide guidance and support to Markets/Regions during each submission cycle. Design and prepare financial reports and dashboards, delivering real-time data and communicating business outcomes through comprehensive variance analysis and commentary to both Intercontinental management and International HQ.
Identify trends proactively, challenge forecasts, and validate assumptions for each brand. Conduct ad hoc analyses and forecasts to assist the internal management team and external clients in making informed business decisions.
S&OP Process Management:
Prepare and ensure the accuracy and timeliness of S&OP/Demand deliverables, along with the creation of presentation materials for S&OP reporting.
Business Support:
Develop Excel deliverables and commercial models to support forecast assumptions. Provide analytical insights and relevant financial data to facilitate strategic business decisions and resource allocation.
Intercontinental HQ Budget Oversight:
Lead the planning cycles for Intercontinental HQ departments, including Latest Best Estimates/Forecast, Plan, and Long Range Plan. Analyze monthly actual expenses and headcount reporting against benchmarks. Collaborate with Intercontinental Area teams to manage departmental and travel expenses.
Prepare and manage a monthly travel budget report, and create upload files for data integration into the planning tool. Oversee Intercontinental headcount transfers and master data management, including cost centers and purchasing orders.
Ensure proficiency in accounting processes such as master data creation, purchase order generation, and journal entry management across various markets.
Internal Controls & Compliance:
Ensure that financial results comply with AbbVie financial policies and U.S. Generally Accepted Accounting Principles. Enhance internal controls by advising markets and commercial teams on Corporate Finance Manual policies and internal control procedures.
Drive innovation and lead improvement initiatives related to financial reporting, systems, and processes.
