Job Overview

Skyline Products is a leading manufacturer of sign solutions for the transportation and petroleum industries. We are seeking a skilled Sheet Metal Fabricator to join our team.

Key Responsibilities
  • Operate fabricating machines, including cutoff saws, shears, hydraulic brake presses, and band saws, to cut, shape, and bend aluminum sheets.
  • Read job specifications to determine machine adjustments and material requirements.
  • Set stops or guides to specified length as indicated by scale, rule, or template.
  • Position work pieces against stops or align layout marks with die or blade.
  • Observe machine operation to detect workpiece defects or machine malfunction.
  • Measure workpiece dimensions to determine the accuracy of machine operation.
  • Remove burrs and sharp edges.
  • Perform minor machine maintenance, such as oiling machines, dies, or workpieces.
Requirements
  • One to two years of related experience and/or training; or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Ability to apply concepts such as fractions, percentages, ratios, and proportions to practical situations.
  • Regularly perform tasks that will require heavy lifting, carrying, and moving materials weighing 50 – 100 lbs. or more off the ground, up and overhead.
  • This is a non-CNC position. Hand fabrication and layout skills are required.
