Job Overview

The Finance Operations Manager will play a crucial role within the accounting division, providing insightful guidance to senior leadership on enhancing strategies, operational performance, and profitability.

Key Responsibilities

The Finance Operations Manager will oversee the daily functions of the accounting division, which includes managing the Accounts Payable and Receivable teams. The focus will be on ensuring precise financial documentation and adherence to GAAP standards.

  • Engage actively in the daily management of the accounting division, collaborating with business leaders to develop a comprehensive understanding of operations and identifying critical financial data to tackle emerging challenges.
  • Demonstrate a strong work ethic, capable of working both independently and as part of a team.
  • Comply with the company’s Code of Conduct and internal policies.
  • Prepare accurate monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements in line with GAAP.
  • Supervise the accounting team and provide cross-training to ensure operational continuity.
  • Assist senior management with budget preparation and financial forecasting, reporting on variances.
  • Oversee reconciliations for credit cards, balance sheets, and bank accounts.
  • Manage fixed asset accounting, including cost analysis and depreciation schedules.
  • Ensure accurate accounting for debt and capital leases.
  • Collaborate with external auditors to ensure proper accounting practices during acquisitions.
  • Support cash flow forecasting efforts.
  • Maintain a thorough understanding of transaction processing and general ledger accounting.
  • Work with external auditors to implement GAAP changes.
  • Foster strong communication with plant and district managers regarding financial reporting.
  • Uphold integrity and ethical standards, establishing robust systems and controls for financial information.

Specific Duties

  • Maintain a comprehensive understanding of the Balance Sheet.
  • Ensure the accuracy of the chart of accounts.
  • Guarantee compliance with GAAP and tax reporting requirements.
  • Advise management on the financial implications of business decisions.
  • Recommend strategies to enhance financial performance and capitalize on business opportunities.
  • Establish effective internal controls to comply with financial regulations.
  • Recruit, train, and motivate accounting personnel.
  • Ensure credit policies are effectively implemented.
  • Accurately capture and record capital expenditures.

Qualifications

The ideal candidate will be a dynamic, detail-oriented leader with a strong sense of urgency and a commitment to team success, possessing the following qualifications:

  • A Bachelor's degree with 5-7 years of experience in senior accounting or finance roles.
  • Proficient in understanding financial drivers, overseeing GAAP compliance, and managing external audits.
  • Experience in budget management and financial reporting.
  • Familiarity with organizations having external debt facilities is advantageous.
  • Experience with financial ERP systems is a plus.
  • Strong communication and presentation skills.
  • Exceptional problem-solving abilities and intellectual curiosity.
  • Ability to balance short-term objectives with long-term strategic goals.
  • Comfortable in a fast-paced, entrepreneurial environment.
  • CPA or CMA designation is preferred.
  • A valid driver's license with a clean driving record.
