Supervisor of Non-Invasive Cardiology

The Supervisor of Non-Invasive Cardiology is responsible for planning, organizing, and directing the operational and financial activities of the Non-Invasive Cardiology Department. This includes developing and implementing policies, procedures, goals, and targets, as well as overseeing staff engaged in non-invasive diagnostic testing for patients.
Key Responsibilities- Plan, organize, and direct operational and financial activities of the Non-Invasive Cardiology Department.
- Oversee staff engaged in non-invasive diagnostic testing for patients.
- Organize laboratory staff and equipment to maximize efficiency.
- Develop, recommend, and implement policies, procedures, goals, and targets for the department.
- Ensure compliance with applicable standards of Joint Commission on Accreditation of Healthcare Organizations (JCAHO) and other regulatory requirements.
- Assess patient needs for appropriate testing methodology.
- Contact physicians to discuss any necessary changes in prescribed testing procedures.
- Coordinate scheduling of laboratory procedures with physicians.
- Perform non-invasive tests to establish diagnosis as ordered by referring physicians.
- Explain test procedures to patients and families.
- Establish appropriate positioning of patients and equipment to obtain graphic responses, and move and position patients.
- Operate a variety of specialized equipment to perform tests.
- Prepare test results and graphs for interpreting physician evaluation.
- Provide preliminary interpretation of test results to referring physicians.
- Interview, hire, train, counsel, and evaluate staff, and recommend termination when necessary.
- Establish staffing needs and scheduling requirements, and coordinate with staff members, physicians, and other departments as necessary.
- Develop and implement in-service training and educational programs for staff.
- Develop, recommend, implement, and monitor capital and operating budgets for assigned departments.
- Monitor expenses and explain variances.
- Prepare and examine various statistical and financial reports for internal and external use.
- Ensure proper operation and maintenance of equipment and facilities.
- Direct, develop, and perform research projects.
- Direct continuous quality improvement (CQI) activities to better serve customer needs and improve quality of services.
- Knowledge and ability to apply complex invasive cardiac and vascular values, instrumentation, and techniques.
- Knowledge of cardiovascular anatomy and physiology.
- Ability to work a flexible schedule, including early morning hours, and evening hours.
- Have a personal interest in primary and secondary cardiac prevention and promote a positive image in the community to market health promotion.
- Basic medical terminology knowledge pertaining to heart disease.
- Must exhibit exceptional interpersonal and organizational skills.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Basic computer skills, including Microsoft Word, Excel, and data entry.
