Job Summary:

The Security Officer Lead is responsible for the day-to-day coordination of protective services for Carle Health. This role oversees the security, parking, Guest Services, and Shuttle Services personnel assigned to their shift during the absence of the shift supervisor. The Security Officer Lead assists the supervisor in carrying out the functions of all departments.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Perform a variety of duties to include, but not limited to, floor patrols within the hospital and medical offices owned/operated by Carle Health.
  • Act as a role model and support management initiatives for the department. Assume a leadership role in the absence of the Manager.
  • Restrain patients with minimum force, avoiding injuries to patients or others, while taking control of the situation and implementing appropriate procedures.
  • Collect patient valuables and secure them in the property room safe until called for.
  • Assist leadership with the orientation and training of new and existing staff.
  • Respond to all alarm activations and investigate the cause; conduct monthly testing of alarms.
  • Provide motor vehicle assistance to staff and visitors, including jump-starting vehicles and assisting with flat tires. Provide after-hour visitation escorts.
