Key Responsibilities:
The primary role of the Charge Licensed Practical Nurse is to assess and oversee the nursing care provided to residents within a designated nursing unit. This includes:
- Implementing care plans tailored to resident needs and staff capabilities.
- Monitoring residents' physical and emotional states, reporting any concerns to the Nurse Care Coordinator.
- Ensuring continuity of care across all shifts.
- Updating residents and families on care plans and participating in educational programs.
- Contributing to care plans by identifying residents' needs and concerns.
- Reviewing physician orders daily to ensure proper implementation.
- Completing quarterly nursing summaries for residents.
- Engaging in quality assurance initiatives as directed.
- Maintaining a supportive environment for quality care delivery.
- Supervising and mentoring nursing staff to foster professional growth.
Qualifications:
To be considered for this role, candidates must possess:
- A diploma from an accredited nursing program and current licensure as a Licensed Practical Nurse in New York.
- At least one year of experience as an LPN, demonstrating potential supervisory skills.
- BLS Certification within six months of hire.
Skills Required:
Successful candidates will exhibit strong accountability, clinical expertise, effective communication, and leadership abilities. The role requires:
- Medium physical demands, including lifting and moving objects.
- Ability to work collaboratively with diverse teams.
