Position Overview

The Cannabis Retail Associate plays a crucial role in delivering exceptional customer service rather than focusing solely on sales. As the primary point of contact for customers, you will facilitate their understanding of the diverse range of products available, ensuring they find the right solutions for their recreational or wellness needs. It is essential to embody the role of an educator and to connect with customers effectively. Adhering to standard operating procedures (SOPs) is vital for maintaining a compliant retail environment, as is taking pride in the cleanliness and overall presentation of the dispensary. Awareness and ownership of your responsibilities are key components of this role.

  • Process, organize, and package customer orders efficiently.
  • Ensure a tidy and well-maintained facility.
  • Deliver outstanding service to both new and returning customers.
  • Accurately enter transactions in the point of sale system.
  • Respond to customer inquiries with patience and informative guidance.
  • Maintain a solid understanding of the product offerings available.
  • Follow established best practices for customer engagement and compliance.
  • Project a positive image of the organization to customers, employees, and the community.
  • Build long-lasting relationships with customers to encourage referrals and repeat business.

Compensation

Hourly wage ranges from $18 to $20 USD.

Essential Qualifications

  • At least 1 year of experience in a customer service role within retail or hospitality.
  • Must be at least 21 years old (or as mandated by state regulations).
  • A minimum of a High School diploma is required.
  • Intermediate math skills are necessary.
  • Exceptional customer service abilities.
  • Strong attention to detail with problem-solving skills in a calm and professional manner.
  • Proficient computer skills.
  • Dynamic interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Ability to stand for extended periods.
  • Personal experience with cannabis products is preferred.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Analytical skills for evaluating data and information.
  • Proven experience managing a cash register accurately.
  • Experience in training new employees.
  • Prior experience as a key holder in a retail setting.
  • Knowledge of state cannabis regulations.
  • 5+ years of experience in retail.
