Job Overview:

University Health Services (UHS) is a recognized on-campus medical facility dedicated to providing comprehensive services, including general medical care, public health education, and specialty clinics.


Position Details:
  • Hiring for a Physician Assistant or Nurse Practitioner
  • This is a full-time position with a standard schedule of 40 hours per week
  • Primary responsibilities will be in our General Medicine clinic, with potential opportunities in other clinics based on operational needs.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Deliver primary medical care to the student community as a UHS General Medicine Provider
  • Engage in committees, policy updates, and peer review processes
  • Contribute to the overarching goals of the organization
  • Perform other related duties as assigned.

Required Qualifications:
For Physician Assistant:
  • Master's degree in Physician Assistant studies
  • Current licensure from the Texas Medical Board
  • Graduation from an accredited Physician Assistant program
  • National Commission Certification of Physician Assistants
  • Minimum of four years of primary care experience
  • Ability to work effectively with a diverse community
For Nurse Practitioner:
  • Master's degree in nursing (MSN)
  • Graduation from an accredited Family Nurse Practitioner Program
  • Current APRN license in Texas
  • Certification by the Texas Board of Nursing
  • Minimum of four years of primary care experience
  • Experience with electronic medical records
  • Ability to work effectively with a diverse community

Preferred Qualifications:
  • Additional years of experience beyond the minimum requirements
  • Experience in a college health clinic setting
  • Strong interpersonal communication skills
  • Professional demeanor and appearance
  • Familiarity with electronic medical records systems

Salary Range:
$115,000 per year FTE

Working Conditions:
  • Standard office conditions with potential exposure to biohazards
  • Repetitive use of a keyboard and manual dexterity required
