Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Respiratory Therapist to join our team at St. Joseph Hospital. As a Respiratory Therapist, you will be responsible for providing critical care services to patients in the intensive care unit, emergency room, and other areas of the hospital. Your expertise will be essential in ensuring the best possible outcomes for our patients.

Responsibilities
  • Determine the appropriateness of therapy and communicate with physicians to clarify or modify orders as needed.
  • Provide verbal and written educational materials to patients and their families.
  • Document critical values in patient medical records and assist with patient care decision-making.
  • Apply and maintain invasive and non-invasive ventilation systems for critically ill patients.
  • Draw blood samples and analyze results of blood tests.
Requirements
  • Graduate of an AMA, JRCTE, or CoARC accredited Respiratory Therapy program with a minimum of an associate's degree.
  • NYS Respiratory Therapist license.
  • Credentialed RRT/CRT by the National Board for Respiratory Care.
  • Experience with basic respiratory therapy modalities, mechanical ventilation, non-invasive ventilation, patient assessment, and arterial blood gas collection/analysis.
  • BLS, PALS, and ACLS certification.
Preferred Qualifications
  • One year of critical care experience.
Compensation

The salary range for this position is $52.39 per hour. In addition to competitive pay, Catholic Health offers a comprehensive benefits package, tuition assistance, and a defined benefit pension plan.
