Job Summary

We are seeking a skilled Carpentry Specialist to join our team at Anning-Johnson Company. As a key member of our construction team, you will be responsible for constructing, erecting, installing, and repairing structures and fixtures of wood, metal, wallboard, and other materials.

Key Responsibilities
  • Construct and install structures and fixtures, using carpenter's hand tools and power tools, and conforming to local building codes.
  • Study blueprints, sketches, or building plans to determine the type of materials required and the dimensions of the structure or fixture to be fabricated.
  • Select and prepare materials, using tape, framing square, and other tools to mark cutting and assembly lines.
  • Shape materials to prescribed measurements, using power and hand tools, and assemble, cut, and shape materials and fasten them together with applicable fasteners.
  • Verify the trueness of structures constructed prior to completion and apply shock-absorbing, sound-deadening, and decorative paneling to ceilings and walls.
  • Fits and installs prefabricated window frames, doors, doorframes, weather stripping, interior and exterior trim, and finish hardware, such as locks, letter drops, and kick plates.
Requirements
  • Typically responsible for the production and quality of the products installed.
  • Must work within precise limits and standards of accuracy, applying shop mathematics to solve problems and planning work and selecting proper tools.
  • Must be able to climb and maintain balance on scaffolds and ladders, reach for, handle, and manipulate objects and materials, lift and carry objects weighing up to 100 pounds, stoop, kneel, crouch, and crawl, and see well (either naturally or with correction).
