Key Responsibilities:- Inspect and sanitize food preparation areas, including equipment and work surfaces, to uphold safe and hygienic food-handling practices.
- Monitor the freshness of food and ingredients by assessing quality, managing inventory, and rotating stock as necessary.
- Prepare food for service, including tasks such as chopping vegetables, butchering meat, and creating sauces.
- Ensure food is stored and cooked at appropriate temperatures by adjusting the settings of ovens, broilers, grills, and roasters.
- Season and cook dishes according to established recipes or personal expertise.
- Address guest feedback with promptness and professionalism.
- Set up and stock stations with all required supplies.
- Collaborate with kitchen staff to cook menu items efficiently.
- Follow instructions from executive or sous chefs diligently.
- Maintain cleanliness of the workstation and manage leftover food responsibly.
- Accurately stock inventory as needed.
- Ensure timely and high-quality food service, with all dishes prepared simultaneously.
- Adhere to nutrition and sanitation regulations as well as safety standards.
- Maintain a positive and professional demeanor with colleagues and customers.
- Prior experience as a cook in a high-volume restaurant setting is preferred.
- Strong communication skills.
- Ability to lift over 30 lbs.
- Capacity to stand for extended periods, typically 8 hours or more.
