The Senior Accounting Specialist plays a crucial role in enhancing the department's objectives by utilizing sound accounting practices for various transactions, performing account reconciliations and analyses, maintaining accurate records, and providing support to the business unit.
CompensationSalary range: $50,000 - $65,000. This role offers a hybrid work arrangement.
Key Responsibilities- Ensure timely and precise processing of financial transactions.
- Prepare and uphold sufficient documentation for all transactions and journal entries.
- Engage in monthly general ledger closing and prepare necessary journal entries.
- Conduct reconciliation of general ledger accounts at month-end.
- Participate in the annual physical inventory or cycle counting activities.
- Assist with the annual audit conducted by an external public accounting firm.
- Calculate and file sales and use taxes.
- Commit to continuous improvement efforts, focusing on minimizing waste.
- Undertake special projects as required.
- Strong analytical abilities and meticulous attention to detail.
- Comprehensive understanding of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office, particularly Excel (including pivot tables and lookup functions).
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting.
- 1-2 years of relevant experience (internships may be considered).
- Experience in a manufacturing setting is advantageous.
