About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Infrastructure Analyst to join our talented IT team at M&T Bank. In this position, you will play a crucial role in spearheading infrastructure transformation efforts in collaboration with our App Dev partners.

Key Responsibilities
  • Partner with cross-functional teams to identify opportunities for automation and efficiency improvement across the organization.
  • Design, implement, and maintain database systems to ensure optimal performance, reliability, and scalability.
  • Develop and implement automation solutions for database deployment, configuration, monitoring, and maintenance tasks.
  • Collaborate with internal tech teams to identify opportunities to mature the bank's database ecosystem.
  • Participate in the bank's DB COE to connect subject matter expertise to the bank's database community.
  • Build and own portions of the vision for assigned agile technology teams that aligns with the overall strategic intent and communicate them with the teams and their stakeholders.
  • Prioritize a feature backlog, in partnership with Product Owners and other leadership.
  • Make autonomous decisions, quickly and thoughtfully, to move delivery forward in alignment with overall technology vision and strategy.
  • Manage and lead the analysis of feasibility, cost, or other aspects of planned or potential programs.
  • Participate in all appropriate team activities and ceremonies.
  • Use a matrixed influencing approach to work with essential business partners throughout the organization often at a senior level and irrespective of hierarchy or divisions, advocating for the benefit of the customer.
  • Focus on outcomes over outputs, incorporating design thinking methods and analytics to inform product design.
  • Provide consultation on the design, building, testing and deployment of technology solutions and designs for the domain.
  • Collaborate with domain leadership and enterprise architects to understand business drivers, business capabilities (future and current state), and determine corresponding solution designs.
  • Enable domain leadership to make business decisions by working with domain subject matter experts to evaluate technology solutions, articulating the value and tradeoffs of each option.
  • Objectively evaluate and solve domain specific technology problems in partnership with domain SMEs.
  • Collaborate with stakeholders on initiatives and participate in cross-team Agile ceremonies.
  • Understand and adhere to the Company's risk and regulatory standards, policies, and controls in accordance with the Company's Risk Appetite. Identify risk-related issues needing escalation to management.
Requirements
  • Minimum of 10 years' higher education and/or work experience
  • Minimum of 3 years of RDBMS experience
  • OR in lieu of a degree, a combined minimum of 8 years' higher education and/or work experience, including a minimum of 5 years' RDBMS experience
  • Experience in a technology leadership role required (experience managing direct reports preferred, but not required)
  • Proficiency in SQL/Oracle, experience with relational database management systems (e.g., MySQL, SQL Server)
  • Experience delivering in an Agile methodology, SAFe preferred but not required
  • Experience with Agile backlog health routines including story creation and refinement
Preferred Qualifications
  • Master's degree in technology-related field
  • Minimum of 12 years' higher education and/or work experience
