We are seeking a highly skilled Construction Materials Quality Assurance Specialist to join our team at Metro Consulting Associates, LLC.
About the JobThe Construction Materials Quality Assurance Specialist is responsible for traveling to construction project sites and performing quality assurance testing and inspections on construction materials such as soils, deep foundations, concrete, asphalt, and masonry.
Key Responsibilities- Perform field testing and inspection services of construction materials (soil, concrete, asphalt, aggregates, and masonry) on roads, utilities, parking lots, and various construction projects.
- Review data for compliance with project specifications; record and communicate any deviations from the specifications to the project supervisor and client.
- Complete daily reports of observation and accurately record test results; submit results to project supervisor for review and processing.
- Assist project supervisor with deficiency resolution.
- Communicate and interact with the general public, city employees, contractors, various agencies, and non-city utilities.
- One or more years of relevant field experience preferred.
- Required to have satisfactory results on a Motor Vehicle Record check and maintain a valid driver's license.
- Able to pass federal DOT drug screening and background check.
- Must be able to communicate professionally with client representatives (supervisor, foreman, project managers, engineers, etc.) at project sites.
- Ability to read, understand and interpret spec books, blueprints, maps.
- Able to work individually or as a team.
- Knowledge of construction instruments/tools.
- Ability to learn new field technologies/willingness to get new certifications as required.
- Primarily work outdoors on construction sites.
- Must be able to work in extreme heat and cold and could be required to walk for long distances on challenging terrain.
- Must be willing to travel up to 100% of the time in both urban and remote areas across multiple states.
