Job Summary

We are seeking a skilled Hotel Engineer I to join our team at The St. Regis New York. As a key member of our engineering team, you will be responsible for ensuring the smooth operation of our hotel's facilities and equipment.

Key Responsibilities
  • Respond to and resolve guest repair requests in a timely and professional manner.
  • Communicate effectively with guests and colleagues to resolve maintenance issues.
  • Perform routine maintenance tasks, including cleaning and lubrication of equipment.
  • Conduct visual inspections of tools, equipment, and machines to identify potential issues.
  • Carry out tasks such as carrying equipment, operating shut-off valves, and maintaining inventory.
  • Communicate daily activities and any issues to other shifts using approved communication programs.
  • Display knowledge and skills in areas such as air conditioning, electrical, mechanical, and plumbing systems.
  • Perform repairs on interior and exterior landscaping, as well as external sprinkler systems.
  • Use the Lockout/Tagout system to ensure safe maintenance practices.
Requirements
  • High school diploma or equivalent required.
  • Some experience in general maintenance, surface preparation, and painting preferred.
  • Experience in hotel engineering or maintenance a plus.
  • Ability to lift up to 50 pounds and move around the hotel.
  • Basic computer skills, including inputting air handler schedules and making temperature changes.

We offer a competitive hourly rate of $31.05 to $41.40, as well as health care benefits, retirement benefits, earned paid time off, and other benefits.
