Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and dedicated Hospitalist Physician to join our team at VCU Health Community Memorial Hospital. As a key member of our Department of Internal Medicine, you will play a vital role in providing high-quality patient care and contributing to the academic mission of our institution.

Responsibilities
  • Provide inpatient care to patients with a wide range of medical conditions, including those requiring ICU coverage
  • Work collaboratively with a multidisciplinary team to ensure seamless patient care and efficient hospital operations
  • Participate in teaching and mentoring of Internal Medicine Housestaff, medical students, and other learners
  • Contribute to the development and implementation of evidence-based clinical practices and quality improvement initiatives
Requirements
  • Board Certification/Board Eligibility in Internal Medicine or Family Practice
  • MD or DO degree
Work Schedule

7 on 7 off schedule with double coverage during the day, with proposed hours of 6am to 6pm and 6pm to 6am. Call schedule is 1:3 nights, with approximately 8 weeks of night coverage per year.

Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience with thoracentesis, abdominal paracentesis, central line placement, and ventilator management
