Job Title: Construction Superintendent

Job Summary:

Kikiktagruk Inupiat Corporation is seeking a highly skilled Construction Superintendent to oversee construction projects in the Joint Base Lewis-McChord area. The successful candidate will have a strong background in construction management, excellent communication skills, and the ability to work independently.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Conduct daily site visits to ensure projects are progressing according to schedule and budget.
  • Coordinate with subcontractors and material suppliers to ensure timely delivery of materials and services.
  • Develop and implement project schedules, including CPM and short interval scheduling.
  • Oversee all construction and related activities, including direct supervision of self-perform trades, subcontractors, and vendors.
  • Prepare and submit detailed biweekly progress reports for each task order.
  • Participate in site visits and meetings to assess scope of work, site conditions, and logistics planning.
  • Ensure compliance with safety protocols and regulations, including OSHA 30 and First Aid/CPR certification.

Requirements:

  • 7 years of experience in journeyman level work in construction, with no less than 3 years of supervisory experience.
  • Ability to read and interpret complex drawings/plans/specifications.
  • Strong organizational, interpersonal, and communication skills.
  • Experience with Microsoft Office and scheduling software (MS Project or Primavera).
  • Valid Driver's License and ability to pass all required contract security requirements.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Working knowledge of e4Clicks Project Estimator software.
  • EM 385 Safety certification.

Work Environment:

  • Performance of the required job duties will be in a construction environment, which may include various weather conditions.
  • Responsible for driving between project sites that are often miles apart or miles from the assigned office location.

    • Ability to walk terrain and surfaces that may be far or uneven.
    • Ability to regularly sit, stand, walk, and talk.
    • Ability to frequently use hands to finger and handle.
    • Ability to occasionally climb, balance, stoop, kneel, and squat.
    • Ability to frequently lift and/or move up to 10 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds.
  • Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to adjust.
