About Our Team

ACCEL Schools is seeking a dedicated Educational Support Specialist to join our team. This role is pivotal in addressing the educational, behavioral, and social requirements of our diverse student body, particularly focusing on those eligible for special education services.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Collaborate effectively with classroom educators to assess and interpret the strengths and challenges of students, aiding in the development of intervention strategies and adapting the curriculum as needed.
  • Administer diagnostic evaluations to inform instructional practices.
  • Conduct assessments related to student behavior.
  • Develop and execute plans aimed at improving student behavior.
  • Lead Individualized Education Program (IEP) meetings and formulate IEP objectives.
  • Strive to achieve all objectives related to student success and institutional culture, as well as state-specific performance targets.
  • Employ evidence-based methodologies in daily lesson planning and instruction.
  • Incorporate culturally responsive teaching techniques into interactions with students, families, and colleagues.
  • Act as an advisor for a specific group of students.
  • Maintain regular communication with families regarding their child's academic and social-emotional development.
  • Engage in the planning and execution of extracurricular activities, including social gatherings and educational trips.
  • Fulfill additional responsibilities as assigned.

Candidate Profile:

  • Possession of a valid state teaching license.
  • Familiarity with State Standards and Common Core Standards.
  • Experience in inclusive classroom settings or co-teaching models.
  • Comfortable working in a coaching environment that emphasizes growth through observation and feedback.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Word and Outlook.
  • Excellent organizational and time management abilities.
  • Capable of working independently while also contributing to a collaborative team.
  • Ability to pass all required background checks.
  • Experience in multicultural environments is preferred.
