Job Details

We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Litigation Associate Attorney to join our dynamic legal team. As a Litigation Associate, you will have the opportunity to work on a wide range of civil defense litigation cases, conduct depositions, and engage in legal research and writing. This is a permanent position that offers excellent growth potential.

Responsibilities

  • Handle a caseload of civil defense litigation matters from inception to resolution, including drafting pleadings, motions, and other legal documents.
  • Conduct thorough legal research and analysis to support litigation strategies and arguments.
  • Prepare for and conduct depositions, interrogatories, and other discovery proceedings.
  • Collaborate with senior attorneys to develop case strategies and provide support during trials and hearings.
  • Assist with the preparation of trial exhibits, witness interviews, and trial briefs.
  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date case files, including organizing and managing documents and evidence.
  • Attend court hearings, conferences, and other legal proceedings as required.
  • Stay current with changes in laws, regulations, and legal precedents that may impact ongoing cases.
  • Communicate effectively and professionally with clients, opposing counsel, and other parties involved in the litigation process.

Qualifications

  • Juris Doctor (J.D.) degree from an accredited law school.
  • Admission to the State Bar and in good standing.
  • Minimum of 1 year of experience in civil defense litigation (insurance defense, premises liability, professional liability, etc.).
  • Strong knowledge of civil procedure, legal research, and writing.
  • Proven experience conducting depositions and handling discovery processes.
  • Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and critical thinking skills.
  • Exceptional written and verbal communication abilities.
  • Ability to work independently as well as collaboratively within a team.
  • Detail-oriented with strong organizational and time management skills.
