TEAM STRUCTURE
In this position, you will engage with cutting-edge technology, and your contributions will be visible on the internet. You will be part of a substantial group of developers responsible for all coding and quality assurance related to the website. The team also creates and maintains several standalone applications to help the business team modify the site's appearance without needing programmer intervention.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Ensure the availability and proper functioning of all systems and third-party integrations.
- Familiarize yourself with the business environment while collaborating with the team to meet organizational objectives.
- Perform effectively under pressure, quickly grasp new concepts, and thrive in a dynamic and diverse setting.
- Participate in an on-call rotation.
ESSENTIAL QUALIFICATIONS
- Minimum of 2 years of development experience.
- Proficiency in Java.
- Experience with JSP.
- Knowledge of JavaScript.
- Familiarity with HTML5.
- Experience with relational databases (DB2).
- Bachelor's degree or equivalent professional experience.
- Authorization to work in the United States without sponsorship.
- Ability to work onsite.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
- Experience with Python.
- Knowledge of Shell Scripting.
- Familiarity with React.
- Experience with GraphQL.
- Knowledge of EJB/JPA.
- Proficiency in Git.
WITHIN 1 MONTH, YOU WILL
- Grasp the fundamental flow of our site, including product pages, checkout, and My Account features.
- Understand our agile process, including card assignments, self-testing, QA testing, and card transitions in project management tools.
- Become familiar with GitHub Desktop and GitLab, including branch creation, committing, pushing, and merging changes.
- Gain insight into our codebase and the connection between back-end and front-end development.
WITHIN 2 MONTHS, YOU WILL
- Comprehend the deployment process and its significance in development and production.
- Learn effective debugging and testing techniques using development tools, IDE consoles, and test devices.
- Acquire a high-level understanding of the batch processing that supports the site.
WITHIN 3 MONTHS, YOU WILL
- Understand the functionality of the Management Center and its importance on our site.
- Learn the basic business rules related to online item selection and purchasing.
- Familiarize yourself with login states, cookies, and storage, and their impact on user experience.
- Begin working independently, ensuring timely completion of tasks, thorough testing, and debugging of defects.
- Attempt to tackle medium-difficulty assignments independently.
- Start participating in the on-call rotation with guidance.
