Position Overview:

Our client, a prominent player in the automotive sector, is in search of a CNC Controls Engineer to enhance their engineering team.

As a CNC Controls Engineer, you will contribute to the Machining Operations Division, providing essential support to the Heavy Duty Engine (HDE) Machining Teams.


Key Responsibilities:
Technical Assistance:

Diagnose, modify, and maintain hardware and software for PLC, CNC, HMI, and robotic controls to guarantee uninterrupted operation of machining machinery.


Network Oversight:

Identify and resolve issues within device-level networks, ensuring effective communication among various systems.


Drive System Maintenance:

Support and manage servo and variable frequency drive hardware and software to ensure peak machining efficiency.


Process Enhancement:

Utilize control technologies to improve existing processes and develop new solutions, implementing monitoring systems for optimal performance.


Collaborative Engagement:

Work in close partnership with Maintenance Supervisors, Mechanical Engineers, and Skilled Trades Leaders to troubleshoot and resolve issues in CNC and Assembly Machining Operations.


Qualifications:
Educational Credentials:

Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Electrical Engineering Technology, or a related discipline; or 8 years of relevant experience in lieu of a degree.


Technical Expertise:

Proficient in the design practices and standards of manufacturing equipment hardware and software, including PLCs, HMIs, servo systems, robotics, and vision systems.


Software Proficiency:

Skilled in PC hardware, commercial software applications, AutoCAD, and Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).


Knowledge Requirements:

Strong understanding of network operations, database management, electrical codes, safety regulations, and industry standards.


Communication Proficiency:

Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively within a diverse team environment.
