Job Summary

Columbia Helicopters Inc. is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior NDT Specialist to join our team. As a key member of our quality assurance department, you will be responsible for implementing and administering our NDT qualification and certification program.

Key Responsibilities
  • Implement and administer the NAS 410 standard for NDT personnel
  • Lead the effort to acquire a NADCAP rating in NDT processes
  • Maintain overall control and cognizance over the NDT program, including training, designating qualified examiners, and approving written practices and procedures
  • Determine and document the adequacy and equivalency of NDT personnel previously certified under NAS 410, EN 4179, or other NDT qualification programs
  • Consult with the NDT shop supervisor and provide guidance on daily operations and workflow
  • Interact with customers and auditors as required per NADS 410 standard and AS9100/AS9110 requirements
  • Conduct performance evaluations, plan salary actions, and recommend hires and promotions
  • Ensure all expenditures meet budgetary constraints
Requirements
  • Certified and current in accordance with NAS 410 standard as a Level III in one or more NDT methods currently in use by Columbia Helicopters
  • Previous experience and certification with Magnetic Particle Inspection, Fluorescent Penetrant Inspection, Eddy Current, and Ultrasonic inspection preferred
  • Ability to read, write, and speak English proficiently
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to work independently and in a team-oriented environment
  • Supervisor or management experience preferred with demonstrated leadership skills and ability to train and coach employees
