Dental Payer Relations Specialist

About the RoleWe are seeking a highly skilled Dental Payer Relations Specialist to join our team. As a key member of our organization, you will be responsible for negotiating and establishing favorable terms and compensation agreements with dental payers on behalf of our affiliated offices.
Your primary focus will be on enhancing participation in various dental plans to maximize benefits for our offices, effectively navigating rental networks to secure optimal arrangements, and serving as the primary contact between our offices and dental payers.
Key Responsibilities- Optimize Payer Participation: Negotiate contract terms and compensation on a regular cadence to maximize benefits for our offices.
- Review Payer Agreements: Identify and negotiate language that minimizes risk to providers.
- Understand Payer Relationships: Develop knowledge of direct versus indirect payer relationships and their impact on reimbursement.
- Prospect New Payers: Research and present new payer network offerings to our offices for consideration.
- Analyze Payer Performance: Assess payer performance and present findings to our offices for term consideration.
- Serve as Primary Contact: Resolve high-impact issues with assigned payers and serve as a subject matter expert for internal audiences.
- Manage Payer Relationships: Host regular reviews to discuss opportunities for increased partnership and reimbursement.
- Support Internal Departments: Collaborate with RCO and Credentialing teams to research and resolve payer-related issues.
- Implement Operational Efficiencies: Support the implementation of EDI, EFT, ERA, web portals, and delegated credentialing.
- Coordinate Patient Grievance Resolution: Work with Compliance to resolve patient grievances.
- Maintain Industry Knowledge: Stay up-to-date on state and federal legislation affecting payer products and reimbursement.
- Bachelor's degree desirable.
- 10 years of dental industry experience required.
- Two to five years of dental provider experience required; dental plan experience a plus.
- Equivalent combination of education and experience considered.
Limited travel - 10-15% of the time. Minimal overnight travel required.
The estimated salary for this role is $110,000-$140,000 per year, depending on experience.
