We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced postdoctoral researcher to join our team at the University of Houston. The successful candidate will have a strong background in biophysics and molecular simulation, with a proven track record of publishing high-quality research papers.
Responsibilities:- Perform coarse-grained simulations of proteins involved in the Photosystem II complex in cyanobacteria.
- Analyze simulation results and recommend new simulations or analysis based on the findings.
- Manage code on GitHub and ensure results are properly shared via DataFed.
- Write manuscripts for publication and present research at conferences.
- Interact with students and provide guidance and training.
- PhD in Physics, Chemistry, Biology, Computer Science, or related field.
- Experience with molecular simulation packages such as GROMACS, LAAMPS, OpenMM, Martini, or other libraries.
- Proficiency with C/C++, Python, or other common languages.
- Experience with LaTeX and GitHub.
- Experience with Linux and submitting jobs via slurm on a cluster.
- Experience with coarse-grained modeling of biomolecules.
- Experience with DataFed.
- Demonstrable interest in supporting undergraduate success for students from underrepresented backgrounds in STEM fields.
