Key Responsibilities
  • Prepare and maintain a sterile environment for surgical procedures, ensuring the highest standards of patient safety and care.
  • Assist surgeons and other medical staff during procedures, providing support and expertise as needed.
  • Monitor and maintain equipment, supplies, and instruments, ensuring they are in good working order and readily available for use.
  • Communicate effectively with patients, families, and healthcare team members, providing clear and concise information and updates.
  • Participate in ongoing education and training to stay current with best practices, new technologies, and emerging trends in surgical technology.
Requirements
  • High school diploma or equivalent required; graduate of a Surgical Technology program or six months specialized patient care training in the armed forces preferred.
  • Current BLS certification required or become BLS certified within one month of start date.
  • Surgical Technologist certification preferred but not required.
