Position Overview

Salary: $17.50 per hour

General Summary:
We are in search of enthusiastic individuals who possess a genuine passion for artisanal drinks and exceptional hospitality. This pivotal role involves delivering outstanding service and crafting top-notch beverages, ensuring that every guest experience is memorable. The position is flexible and will adapt to the varying demands of our bustling establishment.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Warmly welcome and engage with patrons.
  • Accurately take and process drink orders from guests and fellow staff.
  • Confirm the age of guests who appear to be under 30 years old.
  • Skillfully prepare and serve both alcoholic and non-alcoholic beverages in line with our established recipes.
  • Build rapport with regular customers by learning their names and preferences.
  • Ensure precise recording of drink orders in the POS system.
  • Handle guest payments, including credit card transactions and providing change when necessary.
  • Prepare garnishes and replenish snacks for bar patrons.
  • Maintain an organized and visually appealing bar area to enhance drink preparation and beverage promotion.
  • Promptly clear and reset the bar top to maintain a welcoming environment.
  • Present drink menus, offer recommendations, and address any inquiries regarding our beverage selection.
  • Uphold cleanliness across all bar areas, including counters, sinks, utensils, and storage spaces.
  • Serve food orders to guests seated at the bar as needed.
  • Report any equipment malfunctions or maintenance issues to the supervising manager.
  • Assist in restocking and replenishing bar supplies and inventory.
  • Express gratitude to guests for their visit and encourage their return.
  • Support the overall smooth operation of the establishment as directed by management.
  • Perform additional tasks as assigned.
  • Adhere to all company safety and health protocols.

Qualifications:

  • High school diploma or equivalent is required.
  • Must be at least 21 years of age.
  • A minimum of one year of bartending experience in a full-service restaurant or pub is preferred.
  • Ability to maintain professionalism in high-pressure situations.
  • Excellent verbal and listening communication skills.
  • A collaborative spirit and willingness to assist team members.
  • A strong commitment to providing exceptional service.
  • Capability to thrive in a fast-paced environment.
  • Flexibility to work various shifts as needed.
  • Positive, outgoing demeanor.
  • Valid Safe Food Handling certification (ServSafe) is required.
  • Current TIPS training certification is preferred.

Physical and Mental Requirements:

  • Ability to stand and walk for extended periods.
  • Capability to navigate uneven surfaces.
  • Ability to read and follow written instructions in English.
  • Regularly twist, turn, kneel, climb, stoop, bend, and crawl.
  • Ability to lift and carry supplies and equipment weighing up to 50 pounds occasionally and 25 pounds regularly.
  • Ability to safely navigate crowded environments.
  • Operate food preparation equipment and machinery.
  • Tolerate exposure to temperature variations.
  • Perform repetitive hand movements related to food preparation.
  • Work in both indoor and outdoor settings with moderate noise levels and occasional slippery floors.
  • Comply with and enforce all health, safety, and hygiene standards.
