Food Scientist

At Red Gold, we are seeking a highly skilled Food Scientist to join our team. As a key member of our R&D department, you will be responsible for formulating and creating new product prototypes, developing new formulas, and executing product reformulations for improvement and cost management.

• Develop new formulas and national brand matches
• Execute product reformulations for improvement and cost management
• Perform detailed product analytic and organoleptic evaluations
• Coordinate new product sensory testing
• Create product sales samples of new products
• Collaborate with internal stakeholders, external vendor partners, and customers
• Project management and technical documentation
• Competitive product monitoring
• Product commercialization

• 4-year degree in Food Science or related technical discipline
• 5 years R&D work experience in the food and beverage industry
• Certification and/or experience in Food Sanitation, HACCP, Better Processing
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills
• Problem solver and analytically minded

The employee must be able to remain in a stationary position 50% of the time, whether sitting or standing. The employee must be able to use fingers to constantly operate a computer or other type of office equipment. The employee may occasionally be required to crouch and lift/carry items as heavy as 60 pounds.
