Food Scientist

At Red Gold, we are seeking a highly skilled Food Scientist to join our team. As a Food Scientist, you will be responsible for formulating and creating new product prototypes, developing new formulas, and executing product reformulations for improvement and cost management.

• Develop new formulas and national brand matches
• Execute product reformulations for improvement and cost management
• Perform detailed product analytic and organoleptic evaluations
• Coordinate new product sensory testing
• Create product sales samples of new products
• Collaborate with internal stakeholders, external vendor partners, and customers
• Project management and technical documentation
• Competitive product monitoring
• Product commercialization

• 4-year degree in Food Science or related technical discipline
• 5 years R&D work experience in the food and beverage industry
• Experience working within food manufacturing facilities
• Certification and/or experience in Food Sanitation, HACCP, Better Processing
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills
• Problem solver and analytically minded

The employee must be able to remain in a stationary position 50% of the time, whether sitting or standing. The employee must be able to use fingers to constantly operate a computer or other type of office equipment. The employee in this position must be able to regularly walk and use hands to handle and feel. The employee must be able to reach with both hands and arms and visually detect, perceive, or recognize in near and far distances. The employee must be able to converse or convey with other individuals and work outside in various weather conditions.
