Position Overview:

The Pharmacist Floater is responsible for delivering exceptional pharmacy services, which include filling prescriptions, providing patient counseling, and overseeing pharmacy technicians. It is essential to ensure that all services adhere to professional standards and relevant regulations while embodying the core values of respect, honesty, integrity, diversity, inclusion, and safety.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Foster teamwork to guarantee customer satisfaction and a positive shopping experience.
  • Deliver friendly and efficient customer service, demonstrating sincerity and respect in all interactions.
  • Comply with local, state, and federal health regulations.
  • Maintain adherence to licensing guidelines and dispensing regulations.
  • Interpret and process prescriptions accurately within the pharmacy system.
  • Supervise pharmacy technicians in filling prescriptions.
  • Provide counseling to patients regarding medication side effects and interactions, ensuring their understanding of treatment plans.
  • Consult with prescribers on drug therapy appropriateness.
  • Follow established procedures for efficiency and accuracy in prescription filling.
  • Administer immunizations as per defined protocols.
  • Offer direct patient clinical services, including medication therapy management.
  • Monitor and maintain patient profiles and inventory levels.
  • Perform daily operational tasks under the guidance of the pharmacy manager.
  • Adhere to departmental policies and best practices.
  • Ensure compliance with HIPAA regulations.
  • Report any illegal activities, including theft or fraud.
  • Comply with food safety and sanitation regulations.
  • Physical demands include close vision, depth perception, and the ability to lift or move objects up to 25 lbs.
  • Willingness to work at various locations as needed.
  • Ability to perform essential functions with or without reasonable accommodation.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Valid Board of Pharmacy license
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills
  • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment
  • Friendly and approachable demeanor
  • Sound judgment and decision-making abilities
  • Confidentiality in handling sensitive information
  • Proficient math skills for calculations
