KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

- Arrive punctually and be stationed at the broil area as per the weekly schedule.

- Maintain a clean and presentable uniform that meets restaurant standards.

- Prepare the broil station with all necessary cooking equipment, ingredients, and supplies for efficient operation.

- Follow the Broil Station Prep List for setup.

- Assist the Chef or butcher in meat preparation, adhering to quality standards and procedures.

- Communicate regularly with the Chef regarding any kitchen issues, including equipment functionality, sanitation, food supply, and inventory levels.

- Support other kitchen staff in food preparation as directed by the Chef.

- Prepare all food items according to Ruths Chris recipe standards.

- Oversee kitchen line operations during service, ensuring quality and timing of food delivery.

- Guarantee that all dishes are prepared according to company specifications and presentation standards.

- Ensure guests enjoy a superior dining experience by accurately timing and preparing food to meet their needs.

- Maintain an organized and efficient broil station with minimal noise.

- Anticipate busy periods and take proactive measures to prevent service interruptions.

- Assist fellow kitchen staff as needed to uphold quality and timing standards.

- Stock the oven with hot plates and maintain appropriate temperatures for service.

- Monitor inventory levels of meats, seafood, and other supplies, reporting discrepancies to the Chef.

- Select appropriate cuts of meat for desired cooking temperatures.

- Season, cook, and plate all entrees to meet Ruths Chris quality standards.

- Coordinate with side and pantry cooks to ensure timely food preparation.

- Maintain optimal cooking conditions for the broiler and ensure proper cleaning at the end of the shift.

- Uphold the highest standards of sanitation and food safety throughout the shift.

- Follow all safety protocols and report any unsafe conditions or incidents to the Chef or Manager on Duty.

- Return unused meat products to storage at the end of the shift and complete necessary documentation.

- Support other Back-of-House roles as needed to provide a seamless guest experience.

- Complete all closing duties at the end of the shift, assisting the Chef and kitchen staff with cleanliness.

JOB REQUIREMENTS:

- Ability to lift and carry items weighing up to 50 pounds consistently and up to 100 pounds occasionally.

- Must be able to stand and move efficiently for extended periods.

- Frequent bending, kneeling, and reaching required for stock management and line work.

- Ability to taste and distinguish flavors and scents in food and beverages.

- Capable of working in extreme temperatures and noisy environments.

- Compliance with safety requirements, including the use of cut gloves.

- Maintain good personal grooming standards.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

- At least 1 year of experience as a broiler cook in a full-service dining establishment preferred.

- Experience with fresh ingredients is preferred.

- Experience managing a high volume of covers per shift.

- Effective communication skills and the ability to listen attentively.

- Proficiency in understanding English communication.
