Director of Commerce Job Description

MITRE is seeking a highly experienced Director of Commerce to lead the Department of Commerce work program through the Center for Enterprise Modernization (CEM) Federally Funded Research & Development Center (FFRDC).

Key Responsibilities:
  • Develop and execute strategies that align MITRE capabilities with sponsor priorities.
  • Lead a new division and manage a diverse portfolio of projects across multiple departments.
  • Collaborate with stakeholders to build strong capabilities that support the government's economic and global competitiveness goals.
Requirements:
  • Minimum 15 years of related experience with a Bachelor's degree.
  • 10 years of FFRDC experience, with at least 4 in support of Commerce and its agencies.
  • Active Top Secret Security Clearance required.
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Excellent communication, interpersonal, and influencing skills.
  • Experience with both FFRDC teams and Federal sponsors, including Commerce.
  • Demonstrable successful experience with building and marketing capabilities that solve national challenges.
  • Continuous improvement mentality with the capacity to drive change.

This position requires an active Top Secret Security Clearance and will be based onsite at the main campus for at least four days a week.
