Position Overview

The Program Manager position is located in Pine Brook, New Jersey, and offers a unique opportunity to work on a series of significant projects. The successful candidate will work under minimal supervision, demonstrating mastery of program management skills and a comprehensive understanding of multiple concurrent workstreams.

The Program Manager will be responsible for developing program management strategies for complex projects, executing the program to achieve scope, schedule, cost, delivery, and quality requirements. Initial projects include managing and driving design, fabrication, and installation of complex cement production systems.

The candidate will define, generate, and implement program plans, coordinate efforts amongst a diverse team across several major domestic locations, and implement and lead the management operating system. They will also play a critical role in supporting the Queens Carbon team and work with leadership to build a strong, diverse team.

Key Responsibilities
  1. Oversee a $20 million, multi-phase three-year engineering project funded by the Department of Energy ARPA-E, aimed at piloting the production of low CO2 cementitious materials.
  2. Execute the Management OS, developing and implementing comprehensive project plans that integrate all project activities and phases, documenting construction and completions progress.
  3. Report on project and deliverables milestone status, risks, and change management analyses, summary of key issues and actions, resource management, project schedule analysis, and achievements to senior management and funding bodies, ensuring transparency and accountability.
  4. Liaise with key stakeholders, including QC team, government bodies, industry partners, and academic institutions, to ensure alignment and compliance with project goals and regulations.
  5. Monitor project progress against goals and budget, making adjustments as necessary to handle risks and capitalize on opportunities.
  6. Understand supply chain management and generate Quarterly, mid-year, and annual reports.
  7. Assist leadership in building a strong team by recruiting talent, identifying and developing successors, driving retention and engagement, and fostering an inclusive culture.
Requirements

The ideal candidate will have a minimum of 7 years of experience in Engineering project management, with at least 5 years specifically managing pilot-scale industrial projects ($10m+/year). Experience with government-funded projects is highly preferred.

The candidate should possess expertise in identifying, analyzing, and mitigating project risks, with a keen ability to foresee potential challenges and proactively develop contingency plans. Strong leadership skills, excellent communication skills, and the ability to manage budget and internal/external resources on aggressive timelines are also essential.

A Master's degree or higher in Engineering, Engineering Project Management, or a related field is required. In-depth understanding of environmental regulations and compliance standards relevant to industrial and energy projects is an asset.
