Key Responsibilities:
  • Collaborate with the hardware team to develop camera functionalities using C/C++ and Python.
  • Oversee code reviews, debugging processes, and bug resolution.
  • Conduct experiments and tests with new development boards.
  • Regularly contribute to the existing codebase to facilitate frequent over-the-air (OTA) updates with new features.
Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science or a related field.
  • A minimum of 5 years of professional experience in Embedded Software development.
  • Proficiency in at least one system programming language, such as C, C++, Golang, or Rust.
  • At least 2 years of dedicated system software development experience on Linux-based platforms.
  • Strong understanding of modern operating systems and computer architecture.
  • Familiarity with Bash scripting and Python programming.
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Experience in developing on-device software for cloud-connected devices.
  • Knowledge of Linux Kernel development.
  • Familiarity with Bootloader development.
Compensation Information:

At Verkada, we prioritize attracting and retaining top talent by offering competitive compensation that reflects individual contributions. Factors influencing starting pay include work location, candidate skills, experience, market demands, and internal equity. The estimated annual base salary for this position ranges from $130,000 to $300,000 USD. This estimate is one component of Verkada's comprehensive rewards package, which may include additional compensation forms based on role, such as sales incentives, discretionary bonuses, and/or equity in the form of Restricted Stock Units (RSUs).
