Surgical Technologist II

We are seeking a highly skilled and detail-oriented Surgical Technologist II to join our team at Kaiser Permanente. As a key member of our surgical team, you will play a critical role in ensuring the smooth operation of our operating rooms.

• Assist Surgeons and Anesthesiologists: Provide support to surgeons and anesthesiologists during surgical procedures, ensuring that all necessary instruments and equipment are available.
• Prepare Operating Rooms: Prepare operating rooms for surgical procedures, including setting up equipment and ensuring that all necessary supplies are available.
• Maintain Asepsis: Maintain asepsis during surgical procedures, adhering to established policies and procedures to prevent infection.
• Assist with Patient Care: Assist with patient care during and after surgical procedures, including positioning patients and providing emotional support.
• Restock Supplies: Restock surgical supplies and equipment, ensuring that all necessary items are available for future procedures.
• Assist with Education and Training: Assist with education and training of new staff members, including surgical technicians and nurses.
• Participate in Quality Improvement: Participate in quality improvement initiatives, including identifying areas for improvement and implementing changes to improve patient care and surgical outcomes.

• Experience: One year of experience in an operating room or military equivalent experience in a scrub role within the last two years.
• Certification: Surgical Technologist Certificate within six months of hire from National Board of Surgical Technology and Surgical Assisting or National Center for Competency Testing Certificate - Technologist in Surgery within six months of hire from National Center for Competency Testing.
• Basic Life Support: Basic Life Support certification.

• Ability to Scrub All Cases: Ability to scrub all types of surgical cases except open heart.
• Weekend Shift Rotation: Weekend shift rotation required 1:00 pm - 11:30 pm.
• Call Required: Call required.
