Key Responsibilities:

  • Design and implement machine learning algorithms and data processing workflows for diverse battery data initiatives
  • Integrate cutting-edge ML models, statistical techniques, and software solutions
  • Contribute to Chemix's proprietary codebase using Python
  • Collaborate with machine learning experts, battery specialists, and stakeholders
  • Establish best practices for software development and machine learning operations
  • Enhance the research and development processes that produce data

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in computer science, physical sciences, chemical sciences, biological sciences, or engineering
  • A minimum of 3 years of experience in data science within the physical sciences domain
  • Strong understanding of data science principles and statistical methodologies
  • Proficient in the Python data science ecosystem: pandas, numpy, sklearn, plotly, scipy
  • Familiarity with data science and software development best practices: git, testing, CI/CD
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to prioritize and manage multiple projects effectively

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience with workflow management tools such as Airflow, Prefect, or Luigi
  • Knowledge of contemporary neural network architectures (e.g., transformers, GCNN)
  • Background in physics-based battery modeling and chemistry
  • Understanding of cloud services (AWS, Google Cloud, Azure), Docker, and Kubernetes
  • Familiarity with experimental chemistry and materials science
