Key Responsibilities:
- Design and implement machine learning algorithms and data processing workflows for diverse battery data initiatives
- Integrate cutting-edge ML models, statistical techniques, and software solutions
- Contribute to Chemix's proprietary codebase using Python
- Collaborate with machine learning experts, battery specialists, and stakeholders
- Establish best practices for software development and machine learning operations
- Enhance the research and development processes that produce data
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in computer science, physical sciences, chemical sciences, biological sciences, or engineering
- A minimum of 3 years of experience in data science within the physical sciences domain
- Strong understanding of data science principles and statistical methodologies
- Proficient in the Python data science ecosystem: pandas, numpy, sklearn, plotly, scipy
- Familiarity with data science and software development best practices: git, testing, CI/CD
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to prioritize and manage multiple projects effectively
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience with workflow management tools such as Airflow, Prefect, or Luigi
- Knowledge of contemporary neural network architectures (e.g., transformers, GCNN)
- Background in physics-based battery modeling and chemistry
- Understanding of cloud services (AWS, Google Cloud, Azure), Docker, and Kubernetes
- Familiarity with experimental chemistry and materials science
