Residential Mortgage Consultant

Education Requirements: A bachelor's degree or equivalent experience in mortgage or sales is essential.

Experience Requirements: A minimum of two years in residential mortgage lending is required.

Key Responsibilities:

• Develop and sustain a network of professional relationships, including real estate agents, builders, and other stakeholders.
• Engage with prospective borrowers to assess their mortgage requirements.
• Present Burke & Herbert Bank & Trust's mortgage solutions that align with the financial objectives of borrowers.
• Facilitate the completion of mortgage applications and evaluate the financial and credit profiles of borrowers.
• Secure interest rates in accordance with company policies and regulatory standards.
• Gather or request all necessary loan documentation from relevant parties.
• Collaborate with the Centralized Processing Department to ensure timely ordering of legal and appraisal services, while managing documentation efficiently.
• Maintain ongoing communication with borrowers regarding the status of their loans.
• Possess a comprehensive understanding of lending programs, policies, procedures, and compliance requirements.
• Identify and pursue referral opportunities within the organization (such as insurance and deposit services).
• Must be registered with the NMLS Federal Registry.
• Manage all in-house and secondary market loans within your portfolio, addressing requests related to escrows, payments, and payoffs.
• Engage with clients and internal teams daily to resolve inquiries, address challenges, and provide exceptional customer service.
• Assist clients throughout the monthly billing and collections process.
• Monitor delinquent payments and maintain regular follow-up with clients, collaborating with Debt Management on collections.
• Work closely with other departments to address any issues or concerns related to customers in your portfolio.

Reporting Structure:

• Reports directly to the Senior Vice President of Retail Lending.
• Collaborates closely with the Centralized Processing Department, legal professionals, and appraisers.
