About Our District

The Syracuse City School District is embarking on a new phase of innovation and transformation, with a focus on ensuring that all students graduate high school with the skills needed to succeed in college and career.

We are committed to serving all students, including those who may be considered 'hard to serve' due to various challenges.

Job Description

We are seeking individuals who are interested in working with students who require intensive behavior plans, specialized communication systems, or academic interventions due to autism and/or temporary supports.

This role involves short-term and long-term assignments at various schools, working with a variety of students throughout the school year.

Responsibilities
  1. Provide consultation and support to practitioners using research-based best practices in areas such as identification of behavioral goals and intervention techniques, non-aversive behavioral strategies, and assessing student needs and strengths.
  2. Complete Functional Behavior Assessments (FBA) and use data to inform practice.
  3. Ensure the primary classroom service provider monitors the implemented behavioral program.
  4. Collaborate with school teams to monitor progress of Individual Student Behavior Support Plans, ensuring students can access the core curriculum and all educational experiences.
  5. Lead team meetings to review progress monitoring of behavior plans.
  6. Assist in the development and delivery of professional development on related topics as needed.
