Position Overview:

The Clinical Trial Nurse I (CTN-I) serves as an entry-level role within the clinical research team. Under the mentorship of the Principal Investigator (PI) and clinical trials management, this position plays a crucial role in upholding the integrity and quality of clinical trials. The CTN-I ensures compliance with federal, state, and local regulations, as well as institutional policies and procedures.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Regulatory Compliance: Assist in adhering to the Principles of Responsibility and ensure compliance with approved protocols.
  • Study Coordination: Utilize nursing expertise to manage research-related activities, including scheduling visits and collecting data.
  • Participant Safety: Monitor participants' health and safety, reporting any protocol deviations or adverse events promptly.
  • Recruitment and Enrollment: Aid in the recruitment process and assess candidate eligibility for participation in studies.
  • Informed Consent: Engage with participants to ensure they understand their rights and responsibilities throughout the study.
  • Data Management: Accurately document participant information and assist in data collection and analysis.
  • Quality Assurance: Participate in quality control activities and support continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Education and Development: Engage in training opportunities to enhance professional skills and knowledge in clinical research.

Qualifications:

  • Experience: A minimum of two years of clinical nursing experience in a healthcare setting is required.
  • Education: An accredited nursing diploma is mandatory, along with a High School Diploma or GED.
  • Licenses and Certifications: Must obtain a Clinical Research Professional Certificate or Clinical Research Associate Certificate within the first year of employment, along with a valid Registered Nurse License and Basic Life Support certification.

Additional Skills:

  • Proficiency in electronic health systems and databases.
  • Strong communication skills, both written and verbal.
  • Attention to detail and ability to manage multiple tasks effectively.
  • Knowledge of Good Clinical Practice (GCP) and relevant regulations.

This position is essential for maintaining high standards in clinical research and ensuring the welfare of participants involved in trials.
