Position Overview:
We are seeking a dedicated and skilled Registered Nurse to provide exceptional care in our surgical department. This role involves managing personalized, goal-oriented nursing care utilizing the nursing process and primary nursing principles in alignment with hospital policies and procedures.
Key Responsibilities:
- Deliver individualized nursing care while maintaining a safe and hygienic environment.
- Engage in quality improvement initiatives and oversee nursing assistants.
- Actively contribute to departmental operations and communication.
- Uphold the mission, vision, and objectives of Jackson General Hospital while performing additional duties as assigned.
Minimum Qualifications:
- Graduation from an accredited nursing program.
- Valid nursing license in West Virginia.
- Current BLS certification.
- ACLS certification required for Med/Surg, OR, and ED.
- PALS certification required for OR and ED.
Preferred Qualifications:
- ACLS and PALS certifications.
- At least one year of direct patient care experience as a Registered Nurse.
Core Duties:
- Assess and diagnose patient and family needs to ensure quality care.
- Develop and communicate a comprehensive care plan in collaboration with patients and their families.
- Implement medical plans of care and nursing interventions as necessary.
- Continuously evaluate patient responses and adjust care accordingly.
- Maintain accurate documentation of nursing care to support the healthcare team.
Physical Requirements:
- Ability to meet the physical demands of the role, including lifting and moving patients and equipment weighing over 40 lbs.
Working Environment:
- Collaborate closely with colleagues in a dynamic healthcare setting.
- Adapt to irregular hours and potential exposure to biohazards and infectious diseases.
