Job Opportunity

Atlantic Testing Laboratories (ATL) is a leading engineering and architectural technical support firm with over 55 years of experience. We are seeking a Geotechnical Driller Assistant to join our team.

This role offers a challenging and rewarding career with opportunities for advancement. As a Geotechnical Driller Assistant, you will be responsible for mobilizing drilling equipment and supplies to various locations throughout New York State.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Mobilize drilling equipment and supplies to project sites
  • Assist with maintaining drill rigs and associated equipment
  • Operate in a safe manner according to OSHA and project-specific standards
  • Prepare boring, test pit, and monitor well construction logs
  • Assist with installation of geotechnical instrumentation
  • Effectively communicate with drillers and other project team members

Requirements:

  • Able to lift, carry, push, and pull equipment weighing up to 75 pounds
  • Experience operating and/or maintaining heavy equipment
  • Mechanical aptitude and enjoyment of working with and around machinery
  • Good communication and problem-solving skills
  • Basic math skills
  • Willingness to travel throughout New York State
  • A valid New York State CDL driver's license is desirable, but not required
  • A positive attitude, with ability to work independently and in a team environment
