Key Responsibilities:- Administer and monitor anesthesia and sedation for various imaging procedures.
- Assist in the preparation and positioning of patients for imaging studies, including Ultrasound, CT, and Nuclear Scintigraphy.
- Strong knowledge of veterinary imaging techniques and patient handling.
- Assist with operating imaging equipment as needed.
- Handle and restrain animals, including equines, safely and compassionately.
- Collaborate with veterinarians and other team members to ensure high-quality patient care.
- Maintain accurate medical records and documentation of procedures.
- Operate and maintain imaging equipment, ensuring it is used safely and effectively.
- Provide post-procedure care and monitoring of patients.
- Educate pet owners on post-procedure care and any follow-up requirements.
- Credentialed as a North Carolina Registered Veterinary Technician (RVT).
- Ability to work with or around sick animals, potentially hazardous materials, cleaning chemicals, gas anesthetics, and unpleasant odors.
- Ability to always communicate professionally and effectively and maintain professionalism in emotionally charged challenging situations.
- Ability to provide high-quality customer service.
- Ability to work effectively as a member of a team.
- Ability to work effectively with computers and electronics.
- Physical Requirements:
- Ability to lift patients with or without reasonable accommodations.
- Ability to stand for extended periods of time.
- Ability to lift up to 50 pounds, walk, bend, twist, reach, push, and squat most of the workday.
