Diagnostic Imaging Technician

We are seeking a skilled and compassionate Registered Veterinary Technician (RVT) to join our team at Friendship Veterinary Imaging Center in Southern Pines, NC. As a Diagnostic Imaging Technician, you will play a crucial role in ensuring the smooth operation of our imaging services and providing top-notch care to our patients.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Administer and monitor anesthesia and sedation for various imaging procedures.
  • Assist in the preparation and positioning of patients for imaging studies, including Ultrasound, CT, and Nuclear Scintigraphy.
  • Strong knowledge of veterinary imaging techniques and patient handling.
  • Assist with operating imaging equipment as needed.
  • Handle and restrain animals, including equines, safely and compassionately.
  • Collaborate with veterinarians and other team members to ensure high-quality patient care.
  • Maintain accurate medical records and documentation of procedures.
  • Operate and maintain imaging equipment, ensuring it is used safely and effectively.
  • Provide post-procedure care and monitoring of patients.
  • Educate pet owners on post-procedure care and any follow-up requirements.
Requirements:
  • Credentialed as a North Carolina Registered Veterinary Technician (RVT).
  • Ability to work with or around sick animals, potentially hazardous materials, cleaning chemicals, gas anesthetics, and unpleasant odors.
  • Ability to always communicate professionally and effectively and maintain professionalism in emotionally charged challenging situations.
  • Ability to provide high-quality customer service.
  • Ability to work effectively as a member of a team.
  • Ability to work effectively with computers and electronics.
  • Physical Requirements:
    • Ability to lift patients with or without reasonable accommodations.
    • Ability to stand for extended periods of time.
    • Ability to lift up to 50 pounds, walk, bend, twist, reach, push, and squat most of the workday.
