Position Overview:
The Healthcare Revenue Cycle Specialist will be responsible for conducting comprehensive data analysis, enhancing charge capture processes, and driving continuous improvement initiatives. This role encompasses project management, reimbursement evaluation, KPI reporting, financial assessment, and staff training across various service lines and support departments within the organization.
Key Responsibilities:
- Engage with Revenue Cycle stakeholders, including Finance and Administration, to support and comprehend clinical and billing workflows.
- Identify and refine processes to ensure accurate charge capture and billing for services rendered.
- Educate and communicate effectively with staff regarding operational processes.
- Conduct audits and report on the effectiveness of implemented processes.
- Utilize both internal and external resources to achieve and maintain process improvements.
The Healthcare Revenue Cycle Specialist is expected to independently manage projects and deliver measurable, sustainable results. By leveraging national best practices, this position will proactively implement and support enhancements within the Revenue Cycle and Finance systems.
Qualifications:
Education: A Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Health Administration, or a Clinical Discipline is required. Degrees in Accounting, Finance, or related fields, along with relevant experience, will also be considered.
Experience: Candidates should have experience in patient accounting, case management, internal auditing, coding, and/or process enhancement. A combination of professional experience and educational background demonstrating knowledge in:
- Clinical and financial operations within a healthcare system.
- Integrating clinical and patient financial data to enhance outcomes.
- Effective communication skills.
- Familiarity with medical terminology, coding, and healthcare billing standards.
- Auditing, project management, and process improvement methodologies.
Additional Skills:
Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Access, and experience working within a networked IT environment is essential.
