About the Organization
The Royal Flying Doctor Service (RFDS) has been a cornerstone of healthcare in Australia since 1928, delivering vital emergency and primary health services to those in rural and remote areas. Our Mobile Patient Care (MPC) division specializes in Non-Emergency Patient Transport, utilizing a fleet of ambulances and aircraft to ensure safe and efficient patient transfers.
Role Responsibilities
As a Patient Transport Specialist, you will:
- Conduct patient assessments and provide interventions during transport.
- Deliver high-quality care and treatment throughout the transport process.
- Foster positive relationships with patients and other stakeholders.
- Evaluate the effectiveness of interventions in line with RFDS MPC guidelines and NEPT regulations.
- Work independently while adhering to established policies and procedures.
- Collaborate effectively with team members to enhance patient outcomes.
- Stay informed about RFDS MPC policies and NEPT regulations to support best practices.
Qualifications and Experience
The ideal candidate will possess:
- Certification as a Patient Transport Officer (PTO), specifically a minimum of Cert III in Non-emergency Patient Care.
- Experience in the NEPT sector is advantageous but not mandatory.
- A valid FULL NSW Driver's license, with the ability to navigate both urban and rural traffic conditions.
- Availability for shift work during weekdays.
