About the Role:
The Suffolk Y Jewish Community Center, Inc. is seeking a highly skilled Lifeguard to join our team. As a Lifeguard, you will be responsible for ensuring the safety of patrons by preventing and responding to emergencies.
Key Responsibilities:
- Recognize emergencies and respond effectively, completing necessary incident/accident reports.
- Supervise the safety of open swimmers, lap swimmers, and instructional programs.
- Report any unusual water or safety conditions to a supervisor in a timely manner.
- Inspect pool area on a daily basis, ensuring safety and cleanliness.
- Test and record pool and whirlpool water chemistry, temperature when required.
- Count and record pool and whirlpool bather data required.
- Perform maintenance secondary duties as determined and scheduled by the Aquatics Director.
- Attend periodic in-service training/department meetings as specified by the Aquatics Director.
- Enforce pool area policies, rules, and regulations at all times.
Requirements:
- ARC Lifeguard Certification
- ARC First Aid/CPR/AED
- Strong customer service skills and creativity in working with adults and children.
- Able to work a flexible schedule inclusive of evenings and weekends.
- Excellent written and oral communication skills.
