Job Title: Transportation Supervisor

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Transportation Supervisor to join our team at Ryder System. As a key member of our Supply Chain Solutions division, you will be responsible for supervising and coordinating logistics operations, providing coaching and development to staff members, and ensuring that our facilities, equipment, and processes meet the highest standards.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Supervise and coordinate day-to-day logistics operations, ensuring that they meet company standards and customer service specifications.
  • Plan and review logistics processes, collaborating with the Logistics Manager to ensure optimal efficiency and effectiveness.
  • Establish work schedules and procedures, coordinating activities of workers to ensure optimal shift/team logistics.
  • Accountable for site Key Performance Indication (KPI) and working collaboratively with customers on all aspects of operations.
  • Meet regularly with team members to monitor progress, track performance, coach, and counsel, as well as recognize team and individual successes.
  • Cultivate team spirit with a Diversity and Inclusion initiative, promoting cooperation and seeking opportunities to improve internal processes.
  • Carry out performance evaluations of team members, recommending performance awards and/or merit increases when appropriate.
  • Address performance problems through corrective action and disciplinary process.
  • Understand labor agreement and maintain positive labor relations with all employees.
  • Responsible for implementation of health & safety and security initiatives, practices, and behaviors, adhering to company rules and policies.
Requirements:
  • H.S. diploma/GED required.
  • One (1) year or more experience in transportation, warehouse, or distribution environment preferred.
  • 0 to One (1) year direct supervisory/leadership experience required.
